This Masterclass will provide an overview of SUDEP in LMIC. It will explore the assessment and management of associated risks to prevent SUDEP and the ethical question of when is the right time to discuss SUDEP with the patient, families and their carers. What barriers exists, including stigma and cultural factors that prevents discussing SUDEP with people with epilepsy and their families?
The masterclass will explore SUDEP risks factors in pregnant women and how these can be managed to prevent mortality in women with epilepsy in LMIC.
This masterclass contains 3 topics that will be delivered by 3 leading international specialists in the field of epilepsy. There will be a panel session to take questions afterwards.
